Defence Minister of Georgia took part in the discussion on NATO Open Door Policy in Warsaw

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On June 21, 2016 the Minister of Defence of Georgia, Tinatin Khidasheli payed a working visit to the Republic of Poland. In the framework of the visit, the Defence Minister participated in the discussion - “NATO’s Open Door Policy in Warsaw and Beyond” organized by the German Marshall Fund of United States. The event was attended by the representatives of Polish Governmental Institutions, local and international media, academic circles as well as the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Warsaw.

Along with Tina Khidasheli, the Minister of Defence of Macedonia, Zoran Jolevski also took part to the discussion. The opening remarks was made by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Marek Ziółkowski and the moderator of the event was the Director of GMF’s Warsaw Office Michal Baranowski.

Within the discussion Tina Khidasheli spoke on Georgia’s expectations at NATO Warsaw Summit as well as about country’s strategic priorities in the context of security, emphasizing the importance of NATO’s decisions in increasing Georgia’s defence capabilities.
