Georgia’s Independence Day Reception

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On May 30, 2016” the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Poland held a reception to celebrate Georgia’s Independence Day as well as the 25th anniversary of restoration of State Independence. The event was attended by the representatives of Polish Governmental Institutions, Sejm and Senate, cultural and academic circles, diplomatic corps accredited in Poland as well as Georgian Diaspora.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Poland, Nikoloz Nikolozishvili addressed the audience and emphasized the importance of decleration and restoration of Georgia’s independence. He also spoke about Georgia’s aspirations to European and Euro-Atlantic structures and Poland’s firm support in historically important times of our country. In this context, H.E. Mr. Nikolozishvili also emphasized historical ties and friendly relations between the two countries.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Within the framework of the reception, H.E. Ambassador Nikolozishvili awarded former member of European Parliament Mr. Pavel Kowal with the Order of Honour of Georgia for his exceptional stance and firm support of Georgia’s national interests within the international community. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The audience warmly applauded performances by the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre’s vocal ensemble "Suliko" and Georgian dance ensemble "Daisi", visiting Warsaw especially for this event. Later, the guests had the opportunity to taste Georgian wine and national dishes presented by the Georgian restaurant in Warsaw "Rusiko".

With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia as well as in cooperation with the Parliament of Georgia, National Archives and the Immigration Museum a photo exhibition was presented as part of the reception, resembling the history of the First Republic of Georgia as well as important events of past 25 years.

The event was sponsored by Department of Tourism and Resorts of Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, and companies – “IDS Borjomi Europe”, “PiastPol”.
