Georgian Foreign Minister has addressed participants of the seminar on Georgia’s European integration organised by Poland

   Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili addressed participants of the Georgian-Polish expert seminar “Georgia after signature of the AA with the EU: Reforms and security challenges’ assessment” held at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS), on 25 March 2015.  

Georgian and Polish experts participating in the seminar discussed the developments following the signature of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement – security situation in the region, ongoing challenges, situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and Georgia’s integration process with NATO.  

The Georgian Foreign Minister welcomed the initiative of holding this timely seminar. In her opening address, she focused on the importance of signing the Association Agreement with the EU. “Today’s meeting was highly important in terms of analyzing Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration process, as well as the serious tasks Georgia is currently facing. Of great significance is the fact that this seminar brought together prominent experts both from Poland and Georgia. We do expect to receive valuable recommendations on how to improve, develop and enhance the effectiveness of our foreign policy” – Tamar Beruchashvili stated. She underlined the need to work with Polish partners and experts and ensure that they engage in Georgia’s support process.  

The seminar was co-organised by the Embassy of the Republic Poland to Georgia, the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies and the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM).  

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Georgia H.E. Andrzej Cieszkowski addressed the participants of the seminar. “In 2016, Warsaw will be the venue for the next NATO Summit. We expect the fourth EaP summit in Riga will bring substantial results and bring Georgia closer to the EU. It is no secret, that Poland strongly supports Georgia’s European integration and we will continue to do so", – the Polish Ambassador to Georgia said.
