Information on the visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland to Georgia

On the 15tth of October 2013 the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze and the First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Davit Zalkaliani held meetings with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, Ms Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz who paid a visit to Georgia to take part in the conference "Polish Experience and Perspectives of Georgia in Local Self-government Reforms" organized by the Regional Development Ministries of Georgia and Poland.

At the meetings, the sides discussed the ongoing political processes in Georgia, main priorities of foreign policy of the Georgian Government and Presidential elections due to be held on the 27th of October 2013. Special attention was paid to Georgia-Russia relations, current situation in the occupied territories, the installation of wire fences and the non-fulfillment by Russia of its obligations, as well as the importance of the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. The Polish side reaffirmed its government's support for Georgia's territorial integrity, for its integration into European structures, for the initialing of the Association Agreement at the Eastern Partnership Summit and for the signing of this agreement prior to the end of the European Commission's current mandate.
