The European Union is considering offering its Eastern partners more involvement in the bloc’s policies and agencies, Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski has said.

19.06.2017, Luxembourg - The eighth Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministerial Meeting was held in Luxembourg, on 19 June 2017, chaired by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.  The Ministerial Meeting was attended by Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, foreign ministers of the EU Member States and other high-ranking officials. Representatives of the European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development were also present. Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze led the Georgian delegation at the meeting.

The state visit of the President of Poland, H.E. Andrzej Duda and the First Lady of Poland, Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda to Georgia has ended.

The sides reviewed the main aspects of friendly relations between the countries. Growing dynamics of cooperation across the wide range of areas, including trade, economy, transportation, tourism, education and culture was also discussed at the meeting. The leaders also assessed the investment potential of the two countries and highlighted the need of holding a joint business forum.

As a part of his first official visit to Georgia, the President of Poland, H.E. Andrzej Duda has been hosted by the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili at the Presidential Palace.At the tete-a-tete meeting, the presidents have highlighted the importance of the first official visit of President Duda, which coincides with the celebrations of the Independence Day of Georgia and the 25th Anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Poland.
